Broadgate Bridge No 3

Broadgate Bridge No 3, a photo by lincoln_eye on Flickr.

Broadgate (the A15) travels North-South across this bridge. I posted a photo looking North along Broadgate on 10th July 2013.

Central Lincoln is on the other side of Broadgate with the Waterside Shopping Centre and Empowerment sculpture coming into view immediately.

Waterside House Pedestrian Bridge No 4

I've often wondered if this bridge has a local nickname, perhaps inspired by its elliptical shape (when viewed with its reflection). Couldn't find anything on the web about this.

Near Broadgate, Lincoln.

On the left side of the river is the temporary outdoor ice skating rink and on the other side a Christmas tree is visible through the large window upstairs in the Waterside Shopping Centre.

For date geeks, today is 11/12/13. For more fun, add the time 8:09:10. Is that the last one of these this century?

Dodgems at the fairground part of the market just outside the castle. The German-style market also features lots of stalls around the uphill area of Lincoln.

Dry Stone Wall

Dry Stone Wall
Dry Stone Wall, a photo by lincoln_eye on Flickr.

Dry stone walls (ie lacking mortar to bind the stones) are typical of the Peak District in Derbyshire, as well as similar areas around the British Isles and Europe. (Photo from the archives).
