Higher Water
Water levels seem to be higher today than during the last deluge in late November.
The sunny weather won't last either, more rain is forecast for tomorrow.
In this photo are Wagamama restaurant (right) and waterfront eateries, bars and cafes (left).

The water is definitely higher on those boat ramps.

Brayford Pool
Taken earlier this week, before the latest deluge of rain. I suspect the water is now back up to the level seen at the end of November ("High Water" posting).
This view shows more of the southern side, where the University is situated.

Skegness Beach Racing
Another photo from the ACMA Skegness Enduro a couple of weeks ago.
Once the intricate course has been completed, riders travel flat out back down the beach to begin another lap.

High Water
This was the scene at the Brayford Pool, Lincoln, yesterday. Waters peaked in the Lincoln area about 24hrs earlier, on Monday morning and there were a few isolated incidents of flooding at that time. This part of the UK hasn't suffered too badly compared to areas further west. The water levels around here seem to be subsiding now.
In other news, viewers of "Masterchef The Professionals" might be interested to know that contestant Alec Maxfield is head chef at the Double Tree hotel on the left, which opened earlier this year.

Cloud Factory
If you are using cloud storage, it works nothing like this: electrons, created in power stations, travel through the national grid til they reach your computer where they collect info. The electrons then return to the power station, depositing the info into the cloud.

Skegness Enduro
Sunday was the Enduro event in the ACMA Annual Skegness Beach Race Weekend. The Enduro consisted of 3 hours of motorcycles racing around a landscaped beach circuit that straddled the pier. It was hard to tell how many competitors started the race, at least 50, possibly 100.
From the pier.
Spectators watching the Enduro.
After completing the northern part of the beach course, competitors race back to the southern end to start the next lap (or pit for more fuel).
Quite a few bikes were unable to cope with 3 hours of pummelling over sand. It was only going to be a matter of time before the bike producing white smoke retired.
Spectators on the pier behind.

Belchford Downhill Challenge
The Belchford Downhill Challenge is an annual soapbox cart race held in mid September. A public road is closed off providing a course of 650m long with a 50m drop. After an initial push off, carts are powered only by gravity and can reach speeds in excess of 40mph. The course has 2 chicanes: the Northampton College Gravity Racing cart pictured has successfully negotiated the first towards the top of the hill, the other is at the end of the long flat, just before the finish line. About 50 teams enter, some serious and some less so.
Belchford is located in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
