The View From The Top
From the top of Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire.
The major landmarks from left to right: the town of Tattershall, the old guardhouse (now the gift shop) and The Collegiate Church of the Holy Trinity. The church contains a Heritage Centre that serves homemade light refreshments Easter til September. The moat is currently dry.

Sea Mist
This was Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast on Sunday. It was just 5C here, at least 10C cooler than just a few miles inland and most of the rest of the country, where the sun was shining in a cloudless blue sky.

Urban Daffodils
Most of the year, daffodils lie dormant and unnoticed. At this time of year they seem to suddenly appear anywhere and everywhere. My eye was drawn to the window boxes above this antiques shop in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.

New Habitats
Whisby Nature Park has something in common with classic Dr Who: it's based on gravel pits. At Whisby about half a dozen disused gravel pits have been flooded to provide an aquatic habitat for avian attendants. Between the lakes are heathland, woodland and open grassland. An environment has been provided for humanoid visitors too: juveniles have a special area in which to learn about gavity and nearby there is a feeder for adults. There is also a gift shop.

Scuba Diving
I like to imagine that on club night the bus stops and a dozen folk get off clad in their full scuba gear.

Tattershall Castle
Tattershall Castle is participating in "Discover Lincolnshire Weekend" this weekend.
The brick Tattershall Castle visible today was built in the 15th century on the site of the original castle that dates back to the 13th century.
Tattershall Castle is 27km SE of Lincoln.

Empowerment
"Empowerment" is a sculpture by the artist Stephen Broadbent. It spans the River Witham in front of the Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln. The sculpture is reminiscent of the shape of turbine blades: a part of Lincoln's industrial heritage.

Tree of Life
This picture consists of over 30 photos stitched together with Microsoft ICE. ICE is fully automatic: just drag and drop the photos and it works out how to join them, provided there is enough overlap (30% works well).
