Looking towards Waterside North just west of Broadgate, Lincoln.
Broadgate (the A15) travels North-South across this bridge. I posted a photo looking North along Broadgate on 10th July 2013.
Central Lincoln is on the other side of Broadgate with the Waterside Shopping Centre and Empowerment sculpture coming into view immediately.

I've often wondered if this bridge has a local nickname, perhaps inspired by its elliptical shape (when viewed with its reflection). Couldn't find anything on the web about this.
Near Broadgate, Lincoln.
Taken in the Derwent River valley, just downstream of Ladybower dam. High up in the background is Bamford Edge.

Central Lincoln.
On the left side of the river is the temporary outdoor ice skating rink and on the other side a Christmas tree is visible through the large window upstairs in the Waterside Shopping Centre.

We've had some nice sunsets recently. This was seen on Saturday, on the way to the Christmas Market.

For date geeks, today is 11/12/13. For more fun, add the time 8:09:10. Is that the last one of these this century?
In the distance is the Vale of Edale (Edale is the start of the Pennine Way).

Dodgems at the fairground part of the market just outside the castle. The German-style market also features lots of stalls around the uphill area of Lincoln.
The Hope Valley Cement Works chimney is just visible towards the left.

Dry stone walls (ie lacking mortar to bind the stones) are typical of the Peak District in Derbyshire, as well as similar areas around the British Isles and Europe. (Photo from the archives).
