Capt George Vancouver was born in King's Lynn in 1757 was honoured for his work in charting the Pacific Northwest coastline from San Diego to Anchorage in the late 18th century.

    1. I thought that was striking too. Either they modelled it on his younger years (he starting sailing as a teenager, with Capt Cook) or he aged well. He was only 40 when he died.
