High Water

High Water

This was the scene at the Brayford Pool, Lincoln, yesterday. Waters peaked in the Lincoln area about 24hrs earlier, on Monday morning and there were a few isolated incidents of flooding at that time. This part of the UK hasn't suffered too badly compared to areas further west. The water levels around here seem to be subsiding now.

In other news, viewers of "Masterchef The Professionals" might be interested to know that contestant Alec Maxfield is head chef at the Double Tree hotel on the left, which opened earlier this year.

A swollen River Witham passes under High Bridge, Lincoln. (The bridge dates back to 1160AD and the shops on it to 1550AD).

The swollen River Witham passes pubs and restaurants at Thorngate before passing under Broadgate.
