Norfolk Broads

Near the village of Hickling, Norfolk.

The Norfolk Broads are a series of shallow navigable lakes and rivers and have been a popular recreational boating destination since the late 19th century. Many are also nature reserves due to the unique wetlands habitats.

The shallow lakes were formed when medieval peat excavations flooded due to rising sea levels hundreds of years ago.
