Two Avro Lancasters and an Avro Vulcan flew over Lincoln to mark the turf cutting ceremony for the new memorial to Bomber Command situated just above South Common. The three aircraft have been dubbed the Avro Sisters, check out social media updates with the hashtag #Avro3Sisters. These three aircraft are the only remaining airworthy examples. The Vulcan and one of the Lancasters are based in the UK and the other Lancaster is visiting from Canada for the summer. Look out for these aircaft at events and airshows around the country.
