The View From The Top

The View From The Top
The View From The Top, a photo by lincoln_eye on Flickr.

From the top of Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire.

The major landmarks from left to right: the town of Tattershall, the old guardhouse (now the gift shop) and The Collegiate Church of the Holy Trinity. The church contains a Heritage Centre that serves homemade light refreshments Easter til September. The moat is currently dry.

  1. From your comment I'm guessing that the moat would normally be full? From what I hear you are in a drought situation in the UK...who'd ever have thought? LOL. I love this shot. It certainly shows why castles were such great vantage points.

    1. The last time I visited the moat was full, but haven't been for at least a year. Judging by the grass etc growing there, it's been empty for a while. I only pointed it out in case people wondered what the bridge was for! It was a great view from the top - definitely worth the visit.
