This was Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast on Sunday. It was just 5C here, at least 10C cooler than just a few miles inland and most of the rest of the country, where the sun was shining in a cloudless blue sky.
If I remember, isn't it Mablethorpe where the tide goes out for miles and miles? Perhaps I'm confused, but I have childhood memories of somewhere like this. We used to stay in a caravan at Ingoldmells (Skeggy) every year! Great pic of that confounded sea fret.
It wasn't too bad being cold - the forecast accurately predicted it. The temp was a little lower than expected but I always have an extra layer or 2 when going to the East Coast as there's often a cool wind off the sea there.
The tide does go out quite a way at Mablethorpe, but I'd say Cleethorpes is best known for endless mud flats at low tide! This whole area is classic Lincolnshire holiday coast.
Sorry it was cool and misty on the shore but it makes for a fab photo.
